Ewan Clayton

Ewan Clayton works from his studio in Brighton, Sussex, UK. He grew up near the village of Ditching, home to the calligrapher Edward Johnston and the type designer Eric Gill. Ewan is part-time Professor in Design at the University of Sunderland, a core faculty member at The Royal Drawing School, London, and also teaches type designers at The Cooper Union, New York City and the University of Reading. In 2013 his history of the Roman alphabet ’The Golden Thread’ was published by Atlantic books, the Turkish translation rights are with Pegasus, Istanbul.
